A few days ago, J called me from work and asked what I was doing, to which I replied "trying to make this house a home." I've been doing a lot of that lately, and I/we have a long way to go until our vision for this place is fulfilled. Between that, and taking care of my mom (she had surgery recently, but all is well and she will make a full recovery), I haven't picked up my camera since the day I unpacked it. In fact, I've had to consciously remind myself to take little pictures here and there, not necessarily for the blog, but just to document life, which is really why I created this space in the first place. So here are some small snapshots of life as of late.

Have you heard of Rewards Survey? It's one of those companies that pay you to take surveys. Some are longer than others, and some may have absolutely nothing to do with your life, but they pay you... in magazines (love me a good magazine article, so this is right up my alley)! I currently receive Elle, EssenceRedbook, Rolling Stone, Women's Health, W, and Nylon Magaine thanks to taking these surveys, and I didn't pay a dime for any of them.

It's been a while since I've shared some Netflix gems. Every now and then I'll turn on something I've never heard of, without reading the synopsis, and am pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoy the film. Since Netflix updates their library regularly, I'm always stumbling upon something that has me feeling like man, that was actually really good. And so, here are some movies I've loved lately.

Rover.com reached out a few months ago and asked me to share some of Raven's favorite spots around town. Thanks to recent the whirlwind of life happenings (making moves both personally and professionally), I'm just now getting around to this post.

Back before Shazam, and general access to the internet on your phone, I had to search far and wide for the songs I heard on TV shows or in movies. I would often sit through to the end of the credit reel in the movie theater, because that's where the full song listing lies - at the very end. Even then, I had to look quick, because the words scroll so quickly when you're actually looking for something!

Earlier this week, I was catching up on House of Lies (a show I thoroughly recommend), and this lovely melody started playing in the background. I was streaming from my phone and had to rewind a few times to catch the lyrics. One, quick Google search later and bam; I'm listening to Keep Lying by Donna Missal on repeat. Thank you, modern technology.
