Me: I feel like you want me to just sit back and be a firefighter-wife.

In 2020 it looked like this.

I had the absolute pleasure of checking out Perrine's "Le Pop Up" last week for a tasting of some Australian wines.

I have reached a stage in life where I wake with coffee on my brain - even when I'm away from home.

I had looked up cafe's near the hotel we stayed at the day before, so I was ready for a quick stroll for my quick fix.

Crema was less than a mile away, and even though it was hot, humid, and not the least bit scenic, I queued up some Kirk Franklin and made my way on over.

I had the absolute privilege of visiting Cane Creek Vineyards for my birthday last week, and it was such a treat.

The views were stunning. The wines were delicious. The nibbles were a perfect pairing.

Sharing a few more snaps from the Joss Stone concert in May, because I finally got the film developed. Loved, loved, loved being back in the Ryman Auditorium. It's such a great space for a cozy, intimate concert.

Had a mini getaway to Nashville with one of my oldest, dearest friends last week and it was much needed.

Toward the end of last year, I found myself making too many trips to Dunkin'/Starbucks/local shops for my morning caffeine fix.

The drip coffee at home wasn't doing it for me anymore, and the "stovetop espresso" still didn't satisfy me like a proper shot from an espresso machine.

So, I took the plunge and bought a machine for my own kitchen and have been using regular, store bought espresso grounds while I practiced my shot-pulling technique. I knew there'd be a learning curve, and I didn't want to waste good beans while I figured it out. But now that I've got the hang of it, I'm ready to venture out and try some higher quality coffee.

That brought be back to Tuesday

There's about an hour of time each day where the sun pokes through our patio door and creates a sliver of sunlight in our living room. Raven loves to lay in it and sunbathe when the boys are off doing their own thing in their room, but lately, Gabriel has been strategically placing toys in her sunspot.

Honestly, same.

Feels so good to go on lunch dates again.

I used to be that person who would strongly advocate for physical books over an e-reader.

I stopped by this cute little coffee shop while I was out a few days ago, and I had to restrain myself from not taking dozens of pictures.

Also, I tried an affogato (hazelnut) for the first time ever, and wow, I've been missing out.

A few weeks ago, I got an email from Google advising my free google workspace account (the one i use for this blog) would no longer be free. So, I spent all afternoon a couple days later migrating my domain and email host to a new server. It was a long and tedious process, about which I knew very little. But thanks to the help of a few reddit threads and online tutorials, I was able to figure it out.

I snuck away for a couple hours this Valentine's Day to nurture my relationship with myself
