August has consumed me.

I keep telling myself I need to upload, post, write something here, if not for anyone else at least for myself, but the time... it passes. so. quickly.

I spent my birthday by the ocean, and it was exactly what I needed.

Morning walks along the beach
The scent of sunscreen on my skin
Salt in the air
Sand everywhere else
The sounds of laughter mixed with toddler tantrums
All our favorite beach snacks filling our bellies
Cafes con leches giving me an afternoon hit of espresso
What more could I ask for?

Warmer, longer, brighter afternoons are for slower, calmer, low-stress moments. So, when I have a 1pm haircut appointment, I'll take some extra time to walk around the neighborhood and grab an iced coffee. When I need to make a grocery run at 4pm, I'll stop at the library and grab a book I've been wanting to read.

I've been seeing lots of articles and think-pieces about this great return to blogging and how blogs are making a comeback, and I've just been sitting over here in my corner like... I've never left.

This month marks year 11 of consistently(ish) posting here, and it's so much a part of my regular routine at this point. I love looking back on old posts, no matter how cringy, and seeing how I documented a certain moment. Seeing how far I've come in my career. Seeing how my photography style has evolved. Seeing how this custom design template has held up over the years. It's truly a labor of love.

Stepped out with my camera to my favorite coffeeshop today.
