Our last day in Athens kicked off with a spa session at our hotel from day one. It was the ideal way to end a trip with and prepare for the long journey back home.

After our spa session, we walked the streets of Old Town and worked our way through the Athens Flea Market, which happens on the last Sunday of the month. The roads were packed with people since the Athens Marathon also took place that morning. We were as in the mix as we could get, which made for some interesting sights and fun shopping moments.

And thus concluded our Grecian Holiday!

One thing that stands out about this destination is how much walking was involved. To get to the best sights, restaurants, shops, and other spots, you have to have a certain level of physical ability (not necessarily fitness). I couldn't imagine taking a trip like this as an older, retired person. I wouldn't have the energy to do all the things and see all the sights, and for me, vacations are meant for full enjoyment. Otherwise, why go? It's so clear to me that trips like these are for now, not later.

We had a long layover in Copenhagen, but my camera got damaged halfway through shooting that roll of film, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to salvage those snaps. Fingers crossed. I just got my other rolls developed, so the recap saga continues next week.
