Every year, the month of May comes around and snatches my edges.

The days are longer, but it feels like there’s less time to get everything done because there’s so much to be done. It’s graduation season/the end of the school year, mother’s day, my mom’s birthday, Gabriel’s birthday, and in between all of it, there’s a fun little wedding anniversary to celebrate. By the time Memorial Day rolls around, my my brain and bank account are both begging for an intermission.

So, in an effort help prevent another month-long sunday scaries, we decided to celebrate our 10-year anniversary in April – before the weather got too hot and my calendar had me ready to blow up the spot.

I know we’re only a quarter of the way through, but this might’ve be the best idea I have all year. It was the exact retreat we needed, and little did I know, the resort was also a haven for golf lovers, so my golf lover was thrilled.

We rented bikes to explore the grounds, ooouuu’d and ahhhh’d at the homes for sale around the property, ate dinner in bed (!!), stayed up past 3am watching Predator movies, slept till noon, sipped prosecco with breakfast, and played “guess how much” for frivilous gear in the pro shop. It wasn’t the adventure-filled getaway we normally have, but it was the perfect way to recharge and reconnect.

We ended our stay with a couples massage at the spa, and I could’ve laid on that massage table all day long. It was the sweetest cherry on top of an indulgent (re)treat. 10/10 would recommend.
