Happy Thanksgiving! Well, day after Thanksgiving... I spent most of the day on the couch with the pup (who is officially one year old this month - yikes!), updating my tumblr theme, which took way longer than I hoped/expected, but now it's a beautifully responsive extension of this blog, and you should definitely follow me if you haven't already. Yes, that's a shameless plug, and I look forward to following you back. :)

In the afternoon, I got out for a few hours to chill with Mom and visit J at the firehouse. It sucks that he had to work on our first Thanksgiving as a married couple, and it sucks that I wasn't able to be with a whole bunch of family members like most other people, but I guess every year can't be family-filled and picture perfect. It would've been really nice to have some sweet potato pie, though.

Yesterday evening I thought about where I was this time last year, and even though it's not New Year's Eve yet, I also thought about some goals for the near future. I'm itching for new place to live. There's nothing necessarily wrong with where we are now, but I'm ready for a change. This likely means breaking the lease. I also want to pay off a credit card balance, which isn't super high, but I want it at $0. This will likely make it more difficult to break my lease.

As for this space. I want to be more consistent with my posts. I struggle with wanting to post things that will attract more readers, but I also want to post things for me. I don't want to be writing things with thoughts like I wonder if people will like this in the back of my head. I want to produce valuable and unique content that accurately reflects my personality, but since I am choosing to publicly share parts of my life, I do want people to enjoy the content. I think I'm approaching catch 22 land...

On another blogging note, I want to make more of an effort to get in front of the camera instead of always being behind it. Somewhere along the way I got used to being behind the scenes instead of actually being in the scenes. In elementary school I used to love performing in plays and musicals, but then in high school I got a taste of the technical theater life and fell in love with working backstage and pulling all those magically invisible strings. Then I took some film and photography classes and would spend hours editing footage of other people and places. I loved every second! Shortly after, I started this blog and never looked back, until now.

So I've been thinking of ways to keep things cohesive around here. I'm a hardcore planner and scheduler in pretty much every other aspect of life, but when it comes to this blog, I just go with the creative flow. I don't love the idea of creating an editorial calendar, and I've never been one to stick to a blogging "schedule," but I'll play around with a loose routine and see how it goes.

That's all for now. I'm off to brunch with some old friends because yay for brunch.
