Hollywood I one of those places I've never had a desire to visit. My California Dreams consisted of spots like San Diego, Malibu, Catalina and all those coastal spots along the Pacific, but when I found myself arranging my itinerary yesterday, Hollywood seems like the one of the easiest places to get to from the Metro line, and I figured there'd be enough entertainment 'round those parts for the whole day. I figured right.

Quite arguably the highlight of my day: In-N-Out Burger.

This might be the only place in the entire world where you can meet Michael Jackson, Dora the Explorer, Batman, Captain Jack Sparrow and the cowardly lion from The Wizard of Oz, all in one place.

Batman, by the way, could not stop proclaiming himself to be the dark knight.

My name is Disa Chantel, and I was a tourist yesterday - taking snaps of the Walk of Fame and everything. It's also worth mentioning that the Walk of Fame pretty much looks just like a regular sidewalk. I didn't even realize I was walking on it at first, and then I felt like an idiot looking for something that was literally right under my nose.

After hours of walking down Hollywood & Sunset Boulevard, I gave my feet a rest and plopped myself down in a lounge chair outside of Starbucks at the Hollywood Highland Center. A swanky little outdoor mall that I could've done some damage in, had I not needed a rest.

My take on Hollywood Town:
1. Everything isn't as expensive as I thought it'd be.
2. The panhandlers are out in full force - way worse than what I'm used to. If I had a dollar for every time I was asked for a dollar...
3. It looks much better in the movies. It was still nice, and the hills are gorgeous, but take away the palm trees and I could've been walking through midtown Atlanta.
4. I respect the hustler's spirit of all the street performers. There was a show on every corner.
5. I really wanted to round this list out with five points, but I can't think of a 5th, so I'll leave it at that.

After my friend got off work we went to the Universal Studios City Walk area.

This is where my jet lag started catching up with me, and there was a glass of cabernet involved...so the rest of my pictures are blurry.

Day one, down.
