My birth month celebration continued last night with a trip to the Fox for The Little Mermaid. It's only in town this week, so I'm convinced they came just for my occasion. The show was good, even though they took quite a few creative liberties and deviated from the original story. There were more musical numbers (Triton had his own little solos), Flounder was pining for Ariel and stuck in the friend zone (which reminds me... still working on that post), and Ariel didn't even get her legs until right before the intermission, which means I had to wait all the way 'til later in the second half to hear my favorite song: Kiss the Girl. A song which, by the way, was sang so well by the gentleman who played Sebastian. His riffs and embellishments literally gave me chills, so I left the theater satisfied.
