Kennesaw mountain's top, to be exact.

On the way up, I realized why I don't hike very often. Okay, ever.

Essentially, yes, "hiking' is just "walking," but when you throw rough terrain, hills, trees, and random wild animals in the mix, things get interesting. Sure, once you've made it to the top, there's that feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction for kinda conquering something much larger than yourself, but I'm not sure that feeling is worth the intense strain on my muscles. I'd much rather be grounded, on the coast somewhere, with my feet in the ocean, pondering its vastness and living with the belief that I could conquer that, if I really wanted to.

Virgil Thompson once said "Try a thing you haven't done three times. Once, to get over the fear of doing it. Twice, to learn how to do it. And a third time to figure out whether you like it or not." So, I'll be giving it a go at least two more times... after the soreness goes away.
